Mia is three!

Mia is three years old! I can't believe how quickly this time has gone by. Here is an update on the past 6 months with our big girl!

Stats:
Mia is in the 74th percentile for height and the 64th for weight. She’s mostly in 4T clothes, especially for shirts, but there are still some 3T things that will fit her. She wears anywhere from an 8-9 in shoes depending on the brand. She now looks like such a big girl! I feel like each day she loses some of her “baby” looks. I still haven't had the heart to get her a haircut. I just love those baby curls!

Schedule:
We’ve had a pretty major shift in her schedule in the past few months. Mia has stopped napping almost entirely, so that makes for some pretty long afternoons. She wakes up anywhere from 7-7:30. If she does nap, it’s never longer than an hour.  If she doesn't nap, we usually have "quiet time" around 1-2 pm. She goes to bed between 7:30 and 8 at night.

Milestones:
I feel pretty comfortable saying that Mia is 100% daytime potty trained. The only exception I’ve noticed is she tends to have accidents when we travel. I think it is more because she doesn’t really like using public toilets. We still haven’t really tackled night time yet, but she does wake up dry most mornings. She’s also gotten to the place when she will tell us when she needs to go, so we don’t have to constantly ask.
She has really improved in her independent play. Since she has stopped taking naps, I like for her to have “quiet time” every day for at least an hour. This usually entails her playing by herself in her room. Her imagination has also developed quite a bit in the past 6 months. This has been really fun to watch!
We have finally gotten rid of the paci! I was actually quite happy about how this happened. One day we were driving home, and she told me she was ready for the paci fairy to come and give her pacis to the babies. It was totally out of the blue. She did really well with the transition. For the first week or so, she’d ask for her paci at nap or bedtime, but all we had to do was remind her that the paci fairy took them for the other babies and she was fine.
The sass factor has really increased in recent months. Arguments are pretty common too.
She’s having fewer tantrums, but she does whine quite a bit when she doesn’t get her way.
She’s starting getting into more “artistic” things like coloring and playing with play-doh.

Big Events:
Holidays! In the past 6 months, we’ve celebrated Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, Valentine’s day and St. Patrick’s day. We had lots of family in town for Thanksgiving and we spent Christmas in Colorado!
Mia got to experience her first Texas snow in early December.
Mia recently found out that she is going to be a big sister! Her new brother or sister is expected to arrive in November! Mia was very excited when we told her, as she’s been asking for a sibling for a while.
We will be moving to a new house in a few weeks. This will be a big change for Mia because for her whole life thus far, we’ve only lived in one house. She does seem excited about the new house. At first, she was upset about moving, but I think this was before she realized that all of her toys and things would be coming with us.

Favorites:
Things do to: reading, playing with baby dolls, playing with princesses, pretending to cook/have picnics, playing dress up, picking flowers, having tea parties, getting her fingernails painted
Characters: Anna and Elsa, Rapunzel, well, basically any of the princesses. She also likes Daniel Tiger
