Nate, Month 12

Happy birthday to our sweet baby boy! We love you more than you could ever know!

Stats:

Weight: 21 lbs 15 oz, 61st percentile. Pretty proud of the progress we made here!
Height: 30.5 inches, 77th percentile
Size: transitioning into 18 month clothes, and size 3 diapers
Appearance: Pretty sure he’s had a growth spurt, because he seems so much taller. He still only has 6 teeth, but 2 more bottom ones are starting to poke through. Otherwise, not too many changes from last month

Food:
I was able to keep pumping up until like a week ago, so he was getting breastmilk until then. He was doing about 2 bottles a day of formula, and eating like a horse. He’s still not great about green vegetables, but otherwise he’s not too picky. He also has tried whole milk, and seemed to like it. His favorite food is probably still bread and/or pasta. He also likes cheese, yogurt, tomatoes, mandarins, blueberries and turkey a lot.

Sleep:
Sleep continues to go well. He sleeps 11-12 hours at night and usually takes 2-3 hours’ worth of naps per day. He’s had a few nights where he was restless, (right around daylight savings) but otherwise pretty good.

His eat/sleep schedule is very similar to last month.
7-7:30a – wake up and have milk in a sippy cup/breakfast
10ish – nap
11:30-12:00ish – lunch
1:30-2 – another bottle/snack
3-3:30 – nap
6ish – dinner
7:30-8 – milk and bedtime
We have playtime or run errands between eating and sleeping.

Milestones:
I can only think of one new word this month; ‘hi’. Still lots of babbling, he loves the ‘b’ sound. ‘Dada’ is probably his favorite word.
He can now identify things. If I say “go get the ball” he knows what to get.
He’s starting to understand how things work. He puts phones up to his ear, tries to brush his hair and put his socks and shoes on his feet, etc.
He’s pretty much a pro at walking now. He’s pretty close to running.
He’s started doing some climbing. Someone send help!
He’s waving, and we’re starting to get the hang of high five.
He got sick for the first time. Thankfully it was a very mild and short-lived cold, but still, not super fun.
He likes to mock actions that we do. Monkey see, monkey do! J

Things I want to remember about this month:
His first Halloween! He was the cutest little Superman.
We had an early Thanksgiving with Jason’s family, so he’s had his first Thanksgiving meal at least.
We went to see Santa with his big sister and cousin.
He’s starting to get much more interactive when he plays.
We took his first birthday pictures. Dude has had 2 smash cakes!
His first birthday!

His favorite things:
Bubbles, swinging, being outside, the dogs, stealing sister’s toys, throwing toys down the stairs, eating, walking, playing chase, peek-a-boo, taking off his socks and shoes, going for walks, dogs

Things he doesn’t like:
Teething, being strapped down, having to wait for food or milk, being tired, when someone wakes him up.

As I did with Mia's posts, I'll probably go down to only updating as he has doctor's appointments now. See y'all in three months!

And now, the pictures!

Happy Halloween!
