Nate, Month 11

Dude does NOT stop moving. This is the best picture we could get

Stats:

Weight: 21.2 lbs
Height:?
Size: 12 month clothes and size 3 diapers
Appearance: His hair is filling in nicely, and he’s definitely bulking up. He still has a little bit of that baby look, but he’s shifting to a toddler!

Food:

He has pretty much stopped breastfeeding altogether. This has only happened in the last week or so; up until then I was still doing once a day. I pump every 2-3 days as needed, so when I do, he still gets some breastmilk. Mostly he’s on formula now though (usually 3 bottles a day). He still continues to love food. He eats just about everything we put in front of him. The only thing he hesitates on eating is green vegetables. He’ll still eat them, but it’s more work. He still seems to like bread/pasta/rice best of all, but he’s also loves fruit and cheese. He definitely prefers to feed himself, but he will “allow” us to feed him things like yogurt or mashed potatoes.

Sleep:

Sleep continues to go well. He sleeps 11-12 hours at night and usually takes 2-3 hours’ worth of naps per day. I can’t think of a time this month when he woke up in the middle of the night (yay!).
His eat/sleep schedule is very similar to last month, with the exception of bedtime being pushed up slightly:

7-7:30a – wake up and have milk in a sippy cup/breakfast
10ish – nap
11:30-12:00ish – lunch
1:30-2 – nurse/another bottle
3-3:30 – nap
6ish – dinner
7:30-8 – milk and bedtime
We have playtime or run errands between eating and sleeping.

Milestones:

He can now get himself standing after falling without having to pull up on furniture.
He’s started climbing on some things that are relatively low to the ground.
He’s added a few more words to his vocabulary this month (bubbles, mama, bird). He also says “bum bum” a lot, which we think is what he calls his paci. Still lots of babbling and shrieking, and he definitely loves the ‘b’ sound at the moment.
He can blow kisses and he’s getting pretty good at high fives too.
He doesn’t sign nearly as much as Mia did at this age, but he still uses ‘eat’ and ‘more’ all the time.
He’s getting pretty good at playing on his own, provided he can see Jason or I while he’s playing.

Things I want to remember about this month:

His first visit to the beach! We went down to South Padre for a long weekend and spent some time together as a family. Nate actually did well at the beach despite wanting to eat the sand.
Blowing kisses J
When he says ‘mama!’
First visit to the pumpkin patch! I’m so excited for Halloween in a few days!

His favorite things:

Bubbles, swinging, being outside, the dogs, stealing sister’s toys, throwing toys down the stairs, eating, early morning snuggles, walking, playing chase, peek-a-boo, bathtime

Things he doesn’t like:

Teething, being strapped down, having to wait for food or milk, being tired

And now, the pictures!
Swinging!

First trip to the pumpkin patch! He picked his own pumpkin

Visiting auntie at work and eating ice cream!

Covered in noodles and sauce. And pulling off his sock
